LT1020 is a single monolithic chip combination of a micropower positive voltage regulator and a free collector comparator
The LT1020 combines a low‑power LDO regulator and a free‑collector comparator on a single chip. It operates from 4.5 V to 36 V, draws only 40 µA quiescent current, and can deliver up to 125 mA of output current. The device includes a 2.5 V class‑B reference that can source or sink current, and a dropout detector that signals when regulation is lost.
Typical applications include battery‑powered systems, portable instruments, and split‑supply generation. The pinout provides separate regulator output, reference, comparator outputs, feedback, shutdown, and current‑limit pins, allowing flexible circuit designs and protection features.
| Input Voltage Range | 4.5 V to 36 V |
|---|---|
| Supply Current | 40 µA |
| Maximum Output Current | 125 mA |
| Reference Voltage | 2.5 V |
| Dropout Voltage (typical at 125 mA) | 0.6 V |
The LT1020 draws 40 µA of supply current.
It can supply up to 125 mA of output current.
Connecting pin 10 (Current Limit) to ground lowers the regulator current limit.
The dropout voltage is about 0.6 V at 125 mA load.
