About this manual

The L6566B is an extremely versatile current‑mode primary controller designed for high‑performance offline flyback converters and single‑stage PFC applications. It supports both fixed‑frequency (FF) and quasi‑resonant (QR) operation, includes an externally programmable oscillator, and provides features such as adaptive UVLO, pulse‑by‑pulse OCP, and latched or auto‑restart OVP.

The device offers a 700 V on‑board high‑voltage start‑up generator, low quiescent current (< 3 mA), a 600/ +800 mA totem‑pole gate driver, and is supplied in an SO16N package. Pin settings, protection functions, and application examples are detailed for designers of AC‑DC adapters, LCD TV/monitor power supplies, and other SMPS solutions.
