About this manual

The AD9851 is a highly integrated CMOS device that combines direct‑digital‑synthesis (DDS) technology with an on‑chip 10‑bit DAC and comparator. It can generate a frequency‑/phase‑agile sine wave or a low‑jitter square wave up to 180 MHz clock rate, with optional 6× reference‑clock multiplication.

The device is supplied in an ultra‑small 28‑lead SSOP package, operates over –40 °C to +85 °C, and consumes as little as 555 mW at full 180 MHz operation. Detailed specifications, pin functions, timing characteristics and application notes are provided for designers.
