ADM698 / ADM699 are supervisory circuits for power supply monitoring and watchdog timing for microprocessor systems.
The ADM698 and ADM699 are supervisory circuits that monitor power supply voltage and provide reset and watchdog functions for microprocessor systems. The ADM698 monitors a 5 V supply and generates a reset pulse during power‑up, power‑down, and brown‑out conditions, while the ADM699 adds a watchdog timer input to detect processor inactivity.
Both devices are offered in 8‑pin DIP and 16‑lead SOIC packages, with the SOIC version providing additional RESET (non‑inverted) and watchdog output pins. The datasheet includes functional block diagrams, typical application circuits, pin descriptions, performance curves, and mechanical dimensions.
| Operating Voltage Range (Voc) | 3.0 V – 5.5 V |
|---|---|
| Supply Current | 0.6 mA (min) – 1.95 mA (max) |
| Reset Active Time | 140 ms – 280 ms (typ 200 ms) at 25 °C |
| Watchdog Timeout Period (ADM699) | 1.0 s – 2.25 s (typ 1.6 s) at 25 °C |
The RESET output is guaranteed to stay low with Vcc as low as 1 V.
On power‑up, RESET stays low for a minimum of 140 ms after Vcc rises above the reset threshold.
Both parts are offered in 8‑pin plastic DIP and 16‑lead SOIC packages.
