About this manual

The ADM1070 is a negative‑voltage hot‑swap controller designed for safe board insertion and removal from a live –48 V backplane. It provides programmable linear current limiting, in‑rush control, and protection against transient, short‑circuit, over‑voltage and under‑voltage conditions. The device operates typically from –36 V to –80 V and can tolerate transients up to –200 V.

The controller is packaged in a 6‑lead SOT‑23 (RT‑6) package and includes a single‑pin undervoltage/overvoltage detection pin, a programmable timing window, and an auto‑restart feature that shuts down after seven consecutive restarts. Detailed electrical specifications, pin functions, and performance curves are provided in the following sections.
