About this manual

The Pauly ET103/2000 is an adjustable reflex‑scanner featuring active background response suppression and a selectable scanning depth. The device uses a green LED source and a DIANA digital‑analog indicator to display signal levels. Scanning distance is set by a screw under the PG1 cover, allowing precise adjustment of the maximum usable range.

The scanner operates from a 24 VDC supply (40 mA without load) and provides a pnp 60 mA output with optional optocoupler protection. It is housed in an aluminum‑cast enclosure (≈1000 g) with an IP65 protection rating and can operate from –30 °C to +65 °C. Various connector options and accessories are available, including different plug types and cooling‑water flanges.

Frequently asked questions

How is the scanning distance adjusted?

Turn the screw located under the PG1 cover clockwise; this increases the scanning distance L.

What is the “forbidden” distance?

It is the distance L + 5 % beyond which the scanner will not reliably detect diffuse reflecting surfaces.

What ON and OFF delay times are available?

The delay interval can be set between 0 and about 10 seconds, with optional preset values of 1 s, 3 s, and 20 s on request.
