This document introduces the Berthold Mould Level Gauge LB 352 product's features and characteristics, including measurement range, safety and convenience.
The LB 352 Mould Level Gauge measures molten steel level in continuous casting moulds using a contactless radiometric principle. It offers a measuring range of approx. 100 to 300 mm and can be integrated with downstream control units for automated casting.
The document lists technical specifications, detector versions, and three possible source installation arrangements (external, internal, protection‑tube). Advantages include reliability, ruggedness, user‑friendliness, and low radiation exposure for operators.
| Measuring range | approx. 100 to 300 mm |
|---|---|
| Power supply | 230 V AC +10%/-15% / 115 V AC +10%/-15% / 18‑36 V DC or 24 V AC |
| Power consumption | approx. 15 VA (AC), 15 W (DC) |
| Operating temperature | 0 °C to +50 °C |
| Weight (evaluation unit) | approx. 2 kg |
| Accuracy | ± 3 % of measuring range |
| Time constant | 0.05 to 99 s |
| Count rate range | 0 to 99 999 cps |
| Current outputs | 0/4 to 20 mA for control and recording |
| Digital outputs | 1 relay for error message, max. 230 V/2 A |
Calibration can be performed automatically via push buttons or by external calibration.
The source can be installed externally, internally, or in a protection tube depending on mould construction and space constraints.
The gauge provides an accuracy of approximately ± 3 % of the measuring range.
