This document introduces the 8438 series miniature ring force sensors, which have extremely compact dimensions and can be used in a variety of industrial and laboratory applications.
The Burster 8438 miniature ring force sensor is designed for small‑size applications in industrial and laboratory environments. Its compact, flat, disc‑shaped construction allows direct integration into structures where the measured force is transmitted through the sensor itself. Typical uses include force measurement on bolts, screws, plate and cover fastenings, bearing loads, spot‑welding machines and cutting tools.
Key specifications include measurement ranges from 0 … 5 N up to 0 … 200 kN, a stainless‑steel body (type 1.4542), IP64 protection, operating temperature from 0 °C to +85 °C, and a weight ranging from about 5 g to 900 g depending on the range. The sensor features a central through‑hole, a fully welded sensor body, and a shielded TPE‑insulated cable with optional bend‑radius protection. This manual is written in German.
