Xenus is a digital servo drive for brushless/brush motors. It combines CANopen networking with 100% digital control and can operate from single or three-phase mains with continuous power output up to 4 kW.
The Xenus XSL series is a digital servo drive that supports both brushless and brushed motors up to 4 kW. It can be powered from 100‑240 Vac, single‑ or three‑phase, and offers CANopen and RS‑232 communication interfaces. The drive provides multiple control modes such as Position, Velocity, Torque, PVT, and Homing, and can operate as a stand‑alone unit with analog or PWM inputs.
The manual describes hardware dimensions, environmental ratings, protection features, and the configuration of digital I/O, encoder feedback, and resolver options. It also explains the use of Copley’s CME 2 software for fast commissioning, CAN address selection, and advanced functions like indexing, camming, and programmable logic.

The drive supports CANopen and RS‑232 interfaces for networking and stand‑alone operation.
The drive provides twelve programmable digital inputs.
The XSL‑230‑40 model has a peak current of 40 A (28.3 A RMS).
CAN address selection is made with a 16‑position rotary switch on the front panel, with additional bits programmable via digital inputs or flash memory.
