No Flame error occurs when gas supply is off at the water heater, gas meter, or cylinder, propane tank is empty, or flame rod wire is disconnected. The manual lists no action for this code.

Common causes
- Check that the gas is turned on at the water heater, gas meter, or cylinder. p. 57
- If the system is propane, make sure that gas is in the tank. p. 57
- Ensure flame rod wire is connected. p. 57
- Ensure gas type and inlet gas pressure are correct. p. 57
- Bleed all air from gas lines. p. 57
If 12 is still not resolved
- Call your gas supplier from a neighbor’s phone. Follow their instructions. p. 1 “Immediately call your gas supplier from a neighbor ’s phone. Follow the gas supplier ’s instructions.”
- If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the fire department. p. 1 “If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the fire department.”
