The ISP1362 is a single-chip Universal Serial Bus (USB) On-The-Go (OTG) controller integrated with the advanced Philips Slave Host Controller (PSHC) and the Philips ISP1181B Device Controller (DC). The USB OTG controller is compliant with On-The-Go Supplement to the USB 2.0 Specification Rev. 1.0a. The host and device controllers are compliant with Universal Serial Bus Specification Rev. 2.0, supporting data transfer at full-speed (12 Mbit/s) and low-speed (1.5 Mbit/s). The ISP1362 has two USB ports: port 1 and port 2. Port 1 can be hardware configured to function as a downstream port, an upstream port or an OTG port whereas port 2 can only be used as a downstream port. The OTG port can switch roles from host to peripheral, or from peripheral to host. The OTG port can become a host through the Host Negotiation Protocol (HNP) as specified in the OTG supplement. A USB product with OTG capability can function either as a host or as a peripheral. For instance, with this dual-role capability, a Personal Computer (PC) peripheral such as a printer may switch roles from a peripheral to a host for connecting to a digital camera so that the printer can print pictures taken by the camera without using a PC. When a USB product with OTG capability is inactive, the USB interface is turned off. This feature has made OTG a technology well-suited for use in portable devices.

The result is fast and efficient development of the most cost-effective USB peripheral solution. The ISP1181A is ideally suited for application in many personal computer peripherals such as printers, communication devices, scanners, external mass storage (Zip® drive) devices and digital still cameras. It offers an immediate cost reduction for applications that currently use SCSI implementations.

The ISP1181 is a Universal Serial Bus (USB) interface device which complies with Universal Serial Bus Specification Rev. 1.1. It provides full-speed USB communication capacity to microcontroller or microprocessor-based systems. The ISP1181 communicates with the system’s microcontroller or microprocessor through a high-speed general-purpose parallel interface. The fully autonomous Direct Memory Access (DMA) operation - auto download, auto repeat, auto execution - removes the need for the device to re-enable or re-initialize the DMA operation every time. The modular approach to implementing a USB interface device allows the designer to select the optimum system microcontroller from the wide variety available. The ability to re-use existing architecture and firmware investments shortens development time, eliminates risks and reduces costs. The result is fast and efficient development of the most cost-effective USB peripheral solution. The ISP1181 is ideally suited for application in many personal computer peripherals, such as printers, scanners, external mass storage (zip drive) devices and digital still cameras. It offers an immediate cost reduction for applications that currently use SCSI implementations.

The ISP1161 is a single-chip Universal Serial Bus (USB) Host Controller (HC) and Device Controller (DC) that complies with Universal Serial Bus Specification Rev 1.1. It provides two downstream ports for the USB HC and one upstream port for the USB DC. It has separate interrupt request output pins, DMA channels, and wakeup input pins, suitable for connecting USB devices and hosts.

The ISP1130 integrates a Universal Serial Bus (USB) hub with a keyboard controller into a single chip, which complies with Universal Serial Bus Specification Rev. 1.1 and the USB Device Class Definition for Human Interface Devices (HID). The hub has 1 to 2 downstream ports and 1 to 3 non-removable embedded functions, one of which is dedicated to the keyboard operation. The hub controller is fully implemented in hardware, ensuring a fast response to host requests. The integrated 5V to 3.3V regulator allows direct connection to the USB power supply VBUS. The downstream ports are either bus-powered or hybrid-powered and can interface low-power USB devices such as a joystick or a mouse. ISP1130 uses SoftConnect™ technology to connect to the USB host upon detection of VBUS. The low power consumption in 'suspend' mode allows easy design of equipment that is compliant with the ACPI™, OnNow™ and USB power management requirements. The integrated keyboard controller is based on the 80C51 family and has 8KB of mask ROM and 256 bytes of data RAM. The code memory is protected against reading by an external device. A built-in watchdog timer resets the device in case of a microcontroller hang-up. To reduce power consumption, the microcontroller can be put in sleep mode or power-down mode. A serial I2C-bus interface is provided for optional.
