The LTC2262 family is a new generation of ultralow power, high-speed analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) that dissipate less power while maintaining excellent AC performance compared to previous generation ADCs. These ADCs are suitable for power-limited applications, allowing the addition of features and improvement of performance within the power budget. Additionally, the LTC2262 family incorporates a unique set of digital output features that simplify layout and reduce digital feedback. The low power core is also integrated into multichannel parts, including 4-channel and 2-channel ADCs. For a complete list of the ultralow-power ADC family, refer to Table 1.

The LTC6801 multicell monitor IC can detect overvoltage and undervoltage conditions of up to 12 series connected cells, and provides short circuit protection

This document introduces the features and characteristics of the LT3029 product. The LT3029 is a monolithic LDO that integrates two independent 500mA regulators. It has a wide input voltage range of 1.8V to 20V and a dropout voltage of 300mV at full load. The output voltage can be adjusted to 1.215V reference voltage. With an external bypass capacitor, the output voltage noise is less than 20µVRMS. Each channel requires a minimum of 3.3µF ceramic output capacitor to be stable. The quiescent current is 55µA per channel and drops below 1µA in shutdown. Reverse-battery protection, reverse-current protection, current limit fold-back and thermal shutdown are all integrated into the package, making it ideal for battery-powered systems.

This article introduces a new wireless power solution that can harvest ambient mechanical, thermal or electromagnetic energy from a sensor's local environment, eliminating the need for batteries in wireless sensors. This solution uses a piezoelectric transducer to convert mechanical vibration energy into electrical energy, which is then stored in a usable energy reservoir.

More accurate battery gauging can be achieved by monitoring not only the battery voltage but also by tracking the charge that goes in and out of the battery. For applications requiring accurate battery gas gauging, the LTC2941 and LTC2942 coulomb counters are tiny and easy-to-use solutions. These feature-rich devices are small and integrated enough to fit easily into the latest handheld gadgets. The LTC2941 is a battery gas gauge device designed for use with single Li-Ion cells and other battery types with terminal voltages between 2.7V and 5.5V. A precision coulomb counter integrates current through a sense resistor between the battery’s positive terminal and the load or charger. The high side sense resistor avoids splitting the ground path in the application. The state of charge is continuously updated in an accumulated charge register (ACR) that can be read out via an SMBus/I2C interface. The LTC2941 also features programmable high and low thresholds for accumulated charge. If a threshold is exceeded, the device communicates an alert using either the SMBus alert protocol or by setting a flag in the internal status register. The LTC2942 adds an ADC to the coulomb counter functionality of the LTC2941. The ADC measures battery voltage and chip temperature.
