The Agilent Microplate Seal Piercer is a low cost automated microplate piercing station ideal for screening and compatible with a variety of seals and pin plates. As a complementary instrument to the Agilent PlateLoc Thermal Microplate Sealer, the Microplate Seal Piercer pierces a wide variety of seals on 96- or 384-well microplates in only four seconds of cycle time. Specially designed piercing pins guarantee a clean, controlled puncture on every microplate with a penetration depth of ≤ 4.5 mm, even with deep well microplates. Use station either as a stand-alone unit, or integrate into a robotic system through the ActiveX control and RS-232 serial port connection. Indicator lights on the machine alert the operator of the machine status (ready, busy, stop, low air pressure), and a microplate alignment sensor ensures that the microplate is correctly positioned in the microplate locator before actuation. A hardware interlock on the front door provides maximum safety to the operator. The pierc- ing head is easily removed for cleaning. Reconfiguration between formats is accomplished in seconds by changing the pierce head.

HTS PAL is a sample autosampler produced by Varian. It is characterized by precision and high throughput, and is suitable for high-throughput screening, quality control applications or LC/MS flow injection analysis.

LC/MS Nitrogen Generators are used to supply nitrogen gas to LC/MS instruments. They use fully regenerative, proven durability PSA technology, and can provide stable nitrogen supply for nebulizing, auxiliary and drying gases. They can meet the gas flow, purity and pressure requirements of the entire range of Varian LC/MS instruments, including the 320-MS Single or Triple Quadrupole, as well as the 500 Ion Trap. FactorFour columns are superior GC capillaries offering bleed specifications up to four times lower than competitive products. The columns are synthesized using a proprietary stabilization technology that results in the highest signal-to-noise ratios for trace analysis, lower detector contamination for reduced maintenance, better spectra, fewer background ions and faster stabilization. In short, they provide greatly improved chromatography.

Mass ID™ Software is a software developed by Varian to analyze multiply charged ions, including proteins, peptides, and oligonucleotides. The software has an “extended” mass range and can identify analytes that are far above the nominal mass range of the instrument. The software is also flexible and can be used to deconvolute complex mixtures or single components. In addition, the software supports multiple data formats and can process profile spectra from data files (.sms and .xms) or from text files. The software also works with data from both positive and negative mode collections. The software also supports spectrum preprocessing, including averaging, smoothing, spike removal, and background correction. Users can also select the number of species, type of adducts, and mass range to be included in the analysis. The software also supports convenient data reporting, including saving, exporting, or printing deconvoluted spectra.

Varian Micro-Gasifier for Pressurized Samples is a solution for sample introduction of liquefied and high pressure gases into any Varian GC for analysis. It allows controlled evaporation of LPG and LNG samples and can reduce the pressure of high pressure gas samples without creating cold spots, preventing discrimination in the sample. The product is available for the CP-4900 Micro-GC, 450-GC, and 430-GC.
