MAXIM MAX328/MA329 handbook
MAX328/MA329 are monolithic CMOS analog multi-plexers. The MAX328 is a single-ended, 1-of-8 device, and the MAX329 is a differential, 2-of-8 device. Designed to provide the lowest possible on- and off- leakages, these multiplexers switch signals from high source impedance, providing the mux operates into a high-input-impedance op amp or A/D converter. The MAX328/MAX329 are pin-for-pin replacements for the popular DG508/DG509 in these applications. Adding an external 40kΩ resistor to each input makes the MAX328/MAX329 an excellent fault-tolerant multi- plexer. Low leakage (less than 1pA at +25°C) and 2.5kΩ on-resistance allow the circuit to sustain 110V AC faults indefinitely while maintaining an error of less than 40nV for normal signals (i.e., 1pA times 40kΩ). The MAX328/MAX329 work equally well with a single supply of 10V to 30V or dual supplies of ±5V to ±18V. They also perform well with unbalanced combinations of supply voltage, such as +12V and -5V or +5V and -15V. Low power dissipation (1.9mW with ±15V supplies) allows use in portable applications.

MAXIM MAX6979 Manual
The MAX6979 is a MAXIM-released serial interface LED driver chip with 16 open-drain constant current sinking LED driver outputs rated at 5.5V. The MAX6979 operates from a 3V to 5.5V supply. The MAX6979 supply and the LEDs’ supply can power up in any order. The constant-current outputs are programmed together to up to 55mA using a single external resistor. The MAX6979 operates with a 25Mb, industry-standard, 4-wire serial interface. The MAX6979 includes circuitry that automatically detects open-circuit LEDs.
MAXIM DG508A/DG509A Manual(1)
DG508A/DG509A are monolithic CMOS analog multiplexers (muxes) produced by Maxim. DG508A is a single 8-channel (1-of-8) mux, and DG509A is a differential 4-channel (2-of-8) mux. Both devices guarantee break-before-make switching. Maxim guarantees that these muxes will not latch up if the power supplies are turned off with the input signals still present. Maxim also guarantees continuous operation when these devices are powered by supplies ranging from ±4.5V to ±18V. DG508A/DG509A are plug-in upgrades for the industry-standard DG08A/DG509A, respectively. Maxim's parts have lower on-resistance, faster enable switching times, and significantly lower leakage currents. DG508A/DG509A also consume significantly lower power, making them ideal for portable equipment. Applications include control systems, data logging systems, aircraft heads-up displays, data acquisition systems, and signal routing.
MAXIM MAX1677 Manual
The MAX1677 is a compact, high-efficiency, dual-output boost converter designed for portable devices that require two regulated power supplies, typically for logic and liquid crystal displays (LCDs). It can operate with inputs as low as 0.7V, making it compatible with 1, 2, or 3-cell alkaline, NiCd, or NiMH batteries as well as 1-cell lithium-ion batteries. The device does not require external FETs and can maintain regulation while consuming only 20µA, making it ideal for hand-held pen-input and PDA devices operating with low-current sleep states. The primary regulator of the MAX1677 can supply up to 350mA at a factory-preset 3.3V or an adjustable 2.5V to 5.5V output. On-chip synchronous rectification provides efficiencies up to 95%. The 300kHz (or externally clocked) pulse-width-modulation (PWM) operation is particularly suitable for applications requiring low noise, such as those with wireless features. The primary converter also features pin-selectable pulse-frequency-modulation (PFM) operation that consumes only 20µA. A 1µA shutdown state further minimizes battery drain. The MAX1677's secondary step-up converter supplies up to +28V or -28V for LCD bias, varactor tuning, or other high-voltage, low-current functions. Other features of the MAX1677 include a precision reference, logic control inputs for both regulators, and an uncommitted comparator for low-battery detection or a reset function. The MAX1677 is supplied in Maxim's compact 16-pin QSOP package, which occupies minimal space.
MAXIM MAX5099 Dual 2.2MHz Automotive Synchronous Buck Converter with 80V Load-Dump Protection handbook
The MAX5099 is a dual output, high switching frequency DC-DC buck converter with an integrated high side switch. The MAX5099 integrates two low side MOSFET drivers to allow each converter to drive an external synchronous rectifier MOSFET. Converter 1 delivers up to 2A output current, and converter 2 can deliver up to 1A of output current. The MAX5099 integrates load dump protection circuitry that is capable of handling load dump transients up to 80V for automotive applications. The load dump protection circuit utilizes an internal charge pump to drive the gate of an external n-channel MOSFET. When an overvoltage or load dump condition occurs, the series protection MOSFET absorbs the high voltage transient to prevent damage to lower voltage components. The DC-DC converter operates over a wide 4.5V to 19V operating voltage range. The MAX5099 operates 180° out of phase with an adjustable switching frequency to minimize external components while allowing the ability to make trade-offs between the size, efficiency, and cost. The high switching frequency also allows these devices to operate outside the AM band for automotive applications. These regulators can be protected against high voltage transients such as a load dump condition by using the integrated overvoltage controller. This device utilizes voltage-mode control for stable operation and external compensation, so that the loop gain is tailored to optimize component selection and transient response.

MAXIM MAX351/352/353 Manual
MAX351/MAX352/MAX353 are precision, quad, single-pole single-throw (SPST) analog switches. The MAX351 has four normally closed (NC) switches, and the MAX352 has four normally open (NO) switches. The MAX353 has two NO and two NC switches. All three parts offer low on resistance (less than 35Ω), guaranteed to match within 2Ω between channels and to remain flat over the analog signal range (∆3Ω max). They also offer low leakage (less than 250pA at +25°C and less than 6nA at +85°C) and fast switching (turn-on time less than 175ns and turn-off time less than 145ns). The MAX351/MAX352/MAX353 are fabricated with Maxim’s new improved 44V silicon-gate process. Design improve- ments guarantee extremely low charge injection (10pC), low power consumption (35µW), and electrostatic discharge (ESD) greater than 2000V. The 44V maximum breakdown voltage allows rail-to-rail analog signal handling. These monolithic switches operate with a single positive supply (+10V to +30V) or with split supplies (±4.5V to ±20V) while retaining CMOS-logic input compatibility and fast switching. CMOS inputs provide reduced input loading.

MAXIM MAX221E DATA SHEET
This document introduces the MAX221E, a +5V powered single transmit/receive RS-232 and V.28 communications interface with automatic shutdown/wake-up features and high data rate capabilities. The MAX221E features enhanced electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection. Both the transmitter output and receiver input are protected to ±15kV using the IEC 1000-4-2 Air-Gap Discharge Method, to ±8kV using the IEC 1000-4-2 Contact Discharge Method, and to ±15kV using the Human Body Model. The MAX221E achieves a low 1µA supply current with Maxim’s revolutionary AutoShutdown™ feature. AutoShutdown saves power without changes to the existing BIOS or operating system by entering low-power shutdown mode when the RS-232 cable is dis- connected or when the transmitter of the connected peripheral is off. The MAX221E wakes up and drives the INVALID pin high when an active RS-232 cable is con- nected, signaling the host that a peripheral is connected to the communications port. The MAX221E is available in a 16-pin SSOP package as well as a 16-pin TSSOP that uses 50% less board space than a 16-pin SO.
