The Winbond W78E058B is an 8‑bit CMOS microcontroller compatible with the standard 8052 instruction set. It includes a 32 KB main Flash ROM, a 4 KB auxiliary ROM for loader code, 512 bytes of on‑chip RAM (256 bytes user RAM + 256 bytes AUX‑RAM), four 8‑bit bi‑directional I/O ports, an additional 4‑bit programmable port, three 16‑bit timer/counters, a full‑duplex serial port and eight‑source, two‑level interrupt capability.
Power management features include software‑selectable idle and power‑down modes, and the device can operate with either an internal crystal oscillator or an external clock. The microcontroller is offered in lead‑free RoHS‑compliant packages: 40‑pin DIP, 44‑pin PLCC and 44‑pin PQFP.
