Remove the front and rear footplates from the box, align the holes, insert the power cord, and tighten the screws as shown in the assembly diagrams.
Press the PRESET/TIME key, then set the desired time between 0.5 and 9 hours; the LCD will show the preset countdown.
Open the battery cover, insert the new batteries into the battery box, and close the cover.
