This user manual describes the STM8A-DISCOVERY development kit for STM8AF and STM8AL automotive microcontrollers, covering hardware features, quick start…
The STM8A-DISCOVERY is a low-cost development kit designed to help users evaluate and develop applications using the STM8AF and STM8AL microcontroller families. It consists of two dedicated application boards connected via a LIN network: the STM8AF board supports high-speed CAN and LIN communications powered at 5V, while the STM8AL board manages LIN slave communication with ultra-low power modes powered at 3.3V.
| Applicable Microcontrollers | STM8AF and STM8AL automotive microcontroller family |
|---|---|
| Power Supply (Common) | 5 V USB bus |
| Internal Power Conversion | 12 Vdc when powered by USB port |
| External Application Power Supply | up to 14 Vdc |
| Crystal Oscillator Frequency | 16 MHz HSE XTAL crystal oscillator |
| STM8AF MCU Flash Memory | 64 Kbytes Flash |
| STM8AL MCU Flash Memory | 32 Kbytes Flash |
The kit requires a Windows PC (XP, Vista, or 7) and a USB cable with dual type A to mini-B connectors.
The supported toolchains are IAR EWSTM8 and STMicroelectronics STVD.
