Installation guide for Furuno DRS series radar sensors, covering safety, mounting, wiring, equipment lists and warranty information.
The manual provides safety instructions for installing Furuno radar sensors, including the requirement to wear a safety belt and hard hat and to ground the equipment to prevent electrical shock. It details system configuration, power supply options (100/110/220/230 VAC, 12‑24 VDC) and NMEA 2000 connectivity, as well as the equipment lists for each sensor model.
Mounting procedures describe platform construction, bolt torque (19.6‑24.5 N·m), and safe distances to magnetic compasses and RF radiation zones. Wiring sections cover cable routing for the sensor, power supply units (PSU‑012, PSU‑013) and optional accessories. The document ends with packing lists, outline drawings, interconnection diagrams and warranty terms.
| Input Voltage | 100/110/220/230 VAC |
|---|---|
| Power Supply Voltage | 12‑24 VDC |
| Radome Power (DRS2D) | 2 kW |
| Radome Power (DRS4D) | 4 kW |
| Maximum Operating Temperature | 55 °C |
| Mounting Bolt Torque | 19.6‑24.5 N·m |
You must wear a safety belt and hard hat while working on the antenna unit.
The torque should be set between 19.6 and 24.5 N·m.
For the DRS4A model the safe distance is 1.20 m; for DRS6A it is 0.85 m.
The radar sensor operates from a 12‑24 VDC power supply.
