User manual for the Four Star iCAN-MA CAN bus isolator, covering features, specifications, installation and testing.
The iCAN-MA is a CAN bus isolator produced by Four Star Electronics. It provides high‑voltage isolation between CAN ports and power ports, supports adaptive data rates up to 1 Mbps, and is designed for use in hazardous mining environments.
The manual describes the device’s technical parameters, wiring diagrams, installation methods, isolation voltage testing procedures, and ordering information, helping users configure and maintain the isolator safely. This manual is written in Chinese.
| Isolation voltage (CAN‑CAN) | 5000 V AC |
|---|---|
| Isolation voltage (CAN‑Power) | 4500 V AC |
| Communication speed | 0 ~ 1 Mbps (adaptive) |
| Power supply voltage | 7 ~ 40 V DC or 5 V DC (select one) |
| Power consumption | ≈0.5 W |
| Operating temperature | -40 °C ~ +85 °C |
| Dimensions (L×W×H) | 85 mm × 55 mm × 25 mm |
| Weight | 100 g |
| Terminal resistance | 120 Ω (selectable) |
The isolation voltage between CAN1 and CAN2 ports is rated at 5000 V AC.
It supports adaptive communication speeds from 0 up to 1 Mbps.
It can be powered by an external 7‑40 V DC source or a 5 V DC source, with either option selected.
Connect the ports as shown and use a dielectric tester; the maximum test voltage is 5000 V AC for 1 minute without leakage.
