The BP2833D is a high‑precision, non‑isolated buck LED driver with an internal 500 V MOSFET, low operating current and extensive protection features.
The BP2833D is a non‑isolated buck constant‑current LED driver designed for 85 Vac‑265 Vac offline lighting. It integrates a 500 V power MOSFET, operates in critical conduction mode, and requires very few external components, reducing system size and cost. The device provides ±5 % LED current accuracy and a range of protection functions including LED open/short protection, CS‑resistor short protection, VCC undervoltage protection and thermal regulation.
Typical applications include LED tubes, ceiling lights and bulbs. Key specifications are a DIP‑8 package, operating temperature from –40 °C to 105 °C, output LED currents of 320 mA (72 V) and 360 mA (36 V), and a 500 V MOSFET rating. Recommended PCB layout guidelines emphasize short ground paths, close bypass capacitors and proper placement of the ROVP resistor for reliable operation.
| Input Voltage Range | 85 Vac – 265 Vac |
|---|---|
| Internal MOSFET Voltage Rating | 500 V |
| Minimum LED Loading Voltage | >15 V |
It includes LED open circuit protection, LED short circuit protection, CS‑resistor short protection, VCC undervoltage protection and thermal regulation.
Only a few external components are needed because the driver integrates a 500 V MOSFET and does not require an auxiliary winding.
The bypass capacitor on the VCC pin should be placed as close as possible to the VCC pin and GND pin.
The internal thermal regulation temperature is set to 150 °C.
