Prescission Protease is a fusion protein composed of human rhinovirus 14 3C protease and GST, engineered to specifically recognize and cleave the short peptide Leu‑Glu‑Val‑Leu‑Phe‑Gln/Gly‑Pro at the Gln and Gly residues. The enzyme is produced by recombinant expression in Escherichia coli.
The sheet defines one activity unit as the amount of enzyme that, at 5 °C for 16 h, cleaves at least 90 % of 100 µg GST‑tagged fusion protein.
