New York State Courts

The New York State Courts are the judicial branch of the government of New York State, and are made up of state judges, hearing officers, support magistrates, and attorney-referees. The courts primarily hear criminal cases, personal injury claims, commercial disputes, and landlord-tenant issues. New York's state court system handles nearly four million cases a year, heard throughout the State’s 62 counties.
