X-α-Gal Solution

X-α-Gal solution is a reagent used to detect the positive clones of protein interaction in the yeast two-hybrid experiment GAL4 yeast expression system. It is mainly used to screen bacteria strains containing α-galactosidase genes; distinguish different species within the Enterobacteriaceae family, as well as Bifidobacterium and lactic acid bacteria; and used in histochemistry for enzyme activity detection.
