PM6600 is a 6-channel 32mA LED driver with a boost regulator for LCD panel backlight
The PM6600 is a monolithic boost converter and six controlled current generators specifically designed to supply LED arrays used in the backlight of LCD panels. It features a high-efficiency boost section with an internal power MOSFET and an internal +5 V LDO for device supply. The device supports input voltages from 4.7 V to 28 V and can drive up to 10 WLEDs per row with a maximum current of 32 mA per row.
The backlight driver section includes six rows with programmable current and PWM dimming capabilities. It offers robust fault management for open and shorted LEDs, as well as detection for unused rows. The chip includes various protection features such as output over-voltage protection, internal MOSFET over-current protection, and thermal shutdown. It is available in a VFQFPN-24 package.
