This application note describes how to implement Serial Test Controller Programming targeting most of the ST7 general purpose microcontrollers.
This document details the Serial Test Controller Programming (STCP) technique, which allows ST7 devices to be programmed directly on a user board. It outlines the benefits of this method over traditional EPROM programming boards, including reduced time-to-market, cost reduction, enhanced security through custom key codes, and flexibility for field calibration.
The note supports the ST7 Starter Kit, ST7 EPB (EPROM Programming Board), and ST7 Gang Programmer.
These programming tools control 11 pins, consisting of 5 JTAG pins and 3 test mode pins.
