About this manual

This document introduces an innovative solution for driving high brightness 1W LEDs using the VIPer22A-E controller in a flyback configuration with output current control. The proposed driver is designed to operate in the European voltage range (185-265 VAC) without modifications and can also be adapted for U.S. input voltages using an input voltage doubler. A new control technique allows for dimming the LED luminosity down to 10% of the maximum value.

Frequently asked questions

What is the main application of this driver?

It is suitable for landscape lighting, street lighting, car parks, bollards, garden lighting, and large area displays.

Can this driver be used with U.S. input voltage?

Yes, by means of an input voltage doubler, the same VIPer device can be used in the U.S. input voltage range.

What is the maximum number of LEDs that can be driven?

The power supply is able to drive an array of up to 8 LEDs.
