This document introduces the installation steps and requirements for W5.0, including hardware configuration of the computer, operating system requirements, and installation process
This document serves as a quick installation guide for the Analog Devices W5.0 VisualDSP++ development environment. It outlines minimum system requirements including Windows operating systems (2000 SP4 through Vista Ultimate), Intel Pentium processors, and specific RAM and disk space needs.
The guide details a five-step process: software installation via Web download or CD/DVD, optional software updates, hardware installation for EZ-KIT Lite or USB-ICE, license registration and validation, and resources for learning. It distinguishes between KIT evaluation licenses (10-day grace period) and ADI full licenses (30-day grace period).
The computer must have Windows 2000 SP4, XP SP2 or greater, or Vista Business/Enterprise/Ultimate editions; an Intel Pentium 32-bit processor (1 GHz or faster); 512 MB RAM; and 2 GB available hard disk space.
A KIT license grants 10 days to register and validate the installation. Once validated, it extends the full evaluation trial period to 90 days.
Launch VisualDSP++, go to Help -> About, click the Licenses tab, select New, choose Single user license type, and enter your serial number.
