(HI 981409) (HI 981410) TDS & EC Testers for Fertigation Solutions is a water quality detector produced by Hanna Instruments. It is mainly used for measuring the conductivity and total dissolved solids (TDS) in water. It can be widely used in agriculture, horticulture, aquaculture, food processing, and pharmaceutical industries.
This document is the instruction manual for the Hanna Instruments HI 981409 (TDS) and HI 981410 (EC) meters. These devices are specifically designed to address the needs of operators in hydroponics, greenhouses, and nurseries for measuring fertilizer mix solutions. The instruments feature a sealed housing that floats for easy retrieval and include an automatic calibration function.
| Range (TDS) | 0 to 1999 mg/L (ppm) |
|---|---|
| Resolution (TDS) | 1 mg/L (ppm) |
| Accuracy | +2% Ts. |
| Range (EC) | 0.00 to 10.00 mS/cm |
| Resolution (EC) | 0.01 mS/cm |
| Temperature Compensation | Automatic, 5 to 50°C |
| Battery Type / Life | 2 x 1.5V AA/ approx. 300 hours |
| Dimensions (meter only) | 86 x 94 x 33 mm |
The instrument should be recalibrated at least once a month, after cleaning the probe or replacing the batteries.
It indicates that the EC and TDS meters have weak batteries.
The probe should be submerged approximately 5cm (2") in the solution.
