This document describes the Hanna HI 4003 and HI 4103 ion selective electrodes designed for the measurement of cadmium ions in aqueous solutions. The HI 4003 is a solid state half-cell sensor that requires a separate reference. The HI 4103 is a combination ion selective electrode.
The Hanna Instruments HI 4003 and HI 4103 are ion selective electrodes designed for the measurement of cadmium ions in aqueous solutions. The HI 4003 is a solid state half-cell sensor that requires a separate reference, while the HI 4103 is a combination ion selective electrode incorporating a reference electrode. Both utilize a cadmium sulfide/silver sulfide membrane to detect free cadmium ions.

The HI 5315 Double Junction Reference Electrode with HI 7072 Fill Solution is required for use with the HI 4003 half-cell.
You need 0.1 M cadmium standard (HI 4003-01) and ISA (HI4000-00).
The recommended pH range is 4.5 to 7.5 to avoid interference.
Drain and wash with distilled water, wrap the ceramic junction with Parafilm, and store in the original box.
