The Brother AX-22 is an electronic typewriter featuring a daisy wheel cassette and advanced typing capabilities. It offers two pitch options (Pica and Elite) and multiple line spacing selections to suit various document needs.
The manual details how to perform basic typing tasks such as setting margins, using the hot zone indicator, and correcting errors manually or via memory correction. It also includes instructions for replacing the ribbon, daisy wheel, and correction tape.
| Pitch options | Pica (10 pitch) and Elite (12 pitch) |
|---|---|
| Line spacing options | Single space, 1/2 space and double space |
| Minimum margin distance | 2 inches (20 or 24 characters) |
| Hot zone location | 6 spaces before the right margin |
To change the pitch, move the carrier to the left margin. The pitch LED lights up if Elite is selected but stays off for Pica.
Press the SHIFT LOCK key to enable continuous uppercase typing. Press either SHIFT key again to return to lowercase.
A warning beep will sound when the carrier reaches the hot zone, which starts 6 spaces before the right margin.
