The LM2931 is a low-power voltage regulator designed by Bay Linear. It has a low quiescent current (100 µA typical) and low dropout (only 60 mV at light loads and 300 mV (typical) at 100mA). The LM2931 has tight initial tolerance (0.5% typical), extremely good load and line regulation (0.05% typical) and very low output temperature coefficient. The LM2931 is available in SOT-89, TO-92 and 8-SOIC packages, and can be used as a fixed voltage regulator or an adjustable voltage regulator. The LM2931 in an 8-SOIC package has an adjustable output voltage from 3V to 24V, programmed with a pair of external resistors. The logic compatible shutdown feature allows the regulator to be turned on or off.
The LM2931 is a low‑power voltage regulator designed for battery‑powered and portable applications. It offers a very low quiescent current of 100 µA typical and a dropout voltage as low as 60 mV at light loads, rising to 300 mV at 100 mA. The device provides tight output tolerance (0.5 % typ.) and excellent load and line regulation.
The regulator is available in fixed‑voltage versions (3.3 V, 5.0 V, 8.0 V) and an adjustable version (3 V‑24 V) in TO‑92, SOT‑89 and 8‑SOIC packages. It includes reverse‑battery protection of –20 V, transient protection of 60 V, and a logic‑compatible shutdown pin for ON/OFF control.
