This document provides the user manual for SECRI FGM fiber geometry parameter tester, including an overview of the instrument, technical specifications, testing principles, etc.
About this manual
The FGM optical fiber geometry parameter tester, developed by Shanghai Cable Research Institute, automatically measures core diameter, cladding diameter, eccentricities and coating parameters of single‑mode and multimode fibers using gray‑scale calibration, a CCD camera and image‑processing software.
The manual is organized into chapters covering an overview, technical performance, test principle, system structure, operation procedures, coating‑layer testing, system recovery, precautions, and service & support, providing step‑by‑step instructions and configuration options for users. This manual is written in Chinese.

Frequently asked questions
How do I perform a fiber coating layer test?
Select the coating‑layer test from the menu, choose the fiber type (single‑mode, multimode 50 µm or 62.5 µm), prepare the fiber by stripping and cleaning the coating, mount it in the dedicated fixture, and click “Test”.
What are the power requirements for the tester?
The instrument requires 200–240 V AC, 50 Hz mains with a good grounding connection.
How can I recover the system after a software crash?
When the software crashes, restart the computer and press F11 at the bottom of the screen to open the auto‑recovery menu, then select “Rebuild Your System”.
