This is a manual for a watch, it introduces the use of the watch, the precautions for use, maintenance methods and other information
The manual introduces the Hamilton watch, describing its quartz, mechanical and automatic movements, and explains the basic operation of the timepiece. It also covers care and maintenance recommendations, including regular service intervals and water‑resistance checks.
Detailed instructions are given for adjusting the time, date and day, using the crown and rotating bezel, checking the running reserve, and recognizing the battery end‑of‑life indicator. The document includes technical notes on water‑resistance ratings and the importance of keeping the crown screwed down.
| Quartz frequency | 32,768 times per second |
|---|---|
| Running reserve | approximately 42 hours |
| Water resistance (3 ATM) | 30 meters / 100 feet |
| Battery end‑of‑life indicator | seconds hand moves in 5‑second steps |
| Crown screw for water‑resistance | crown must be screwed down |
Pull out the crown completely to position (p2) so the seconds hand stops, turn the crown to set the time, then push the crown back in completely.
The water‑resistance rating is indicated on the case back, and it should be checked by an authorized Hamilton agent each time the case is opened.
When the seconds hand begins to move in 5‑second steps, it signals that the battery needs to be replaced.
