About this manual

The UM3204 is a 4‑bit bidirectional voltage‑level translator designed for open‑drain and push‑pull applications. It shifts logic levels between low‑voltage ASIC/PLD interfaces (1.65 V‑3.6 V) and higher‑voltage systems (2.3 V‑5.5 V), providing up to ±15 kV ESD protection on the high‑voltage side. The device operates without a direction‑control signal and includes three‑state outputs that reduce supply current when OE is low.

Key features include a supply voltage range of 1.65 V to 3.6 V for the A‑port and 2.3 V to 5.5 V for the B‑port, continuous output current of +50 mA, and a maximum push‑pull data rate of 24 Mbps. The translator is available in 1.9 × 1.4 mm CSP12 and 3.5 × 3.5 mm QFN14 packages, with optional tape‑and‑reel packaging for volume production.

Frequently asked questions

What is the supply voltage range for the A‑port?

The A‑port (Veca) operates from 1.65 V to 3.6 V.

How do you disable the UM3204 outputs?

Pull the OE input low; this places all I/Os in a high‑impedance (Hi‑Z) state.
