This document describes the features and characteristics of NFS40 and NFN40, two types of 40 Watt power supplies. These power supplies have the capability to supply 50W in a forced air ambient and to automatically operate from any voltage between 85VAC and 264VAC. The use of MOSFET based switching circuits allows for enhanced features such as output regulation.
About this manual
The NFS40 and NFN40 series are low‑profile, 40‑W (up to 50 W with forced‑air cooling) AC/DC switch‑mode power supplies. They accept a universal input voltage range of 85 V to 264 V AC (or 120 V to 370 V DC) and feature MOSFET‑based regulation, over‑voltage and short‑circuit protection, and optional power‑sharing capability. The modules are designed for 1U applications, measuring 5.0 × 3.0 × 1.2 inches and weighing 280 g.
These power supplies meet multiple international safety and EMC standards, including VDE0805, EN60950, IEC950, IEC1010, UL1950 and CSA C22.2. They are suitable for small digital systems and can operate in temperatures from 0 °C to +70 °C (non‑operating –40 °C to +85 °C) and at altitudes up to 10 000 ft (non‑operating 40 000 ft).
