| Hard drive capacity reporting | Decimal (GB) vs Binary (GiB) values differ |
|---|---|
| Supported operating system | Microsoft(R) Windows 7 |
Manufacturers label capacity using decimal units (1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes) while Windows reports using binary units (1 GiB = 1,073,741,824 bytes), so the reported size is lower.
Close all programs, disconnect peripherals, start the computer, then use Start → All Programs → Recovery Manager to launch the recovery wizard and follow the on‑screen prompts.
