This document describes the specifications and features of the AD537 series products, including current-to-frequency converter, analog input amplifier, and reference outputs.

The ADVFC32 is a low-cost monolithic voltage-to-frequency (V/F) converter or frequency-to-voltage (F/V) converter with good linearity and high operating frequency.

Low Cost Monolithic Voltage-to-Frequency Converter

The AD7740 is a low-cost, ultrasmall synchronous Voltage-to- Frequency Converter (VFC). It works from a single 3.0 V to 3.6 V or 4.75 V to 5.25 V supply consuming 0.9 mA. The AD7740 is available in an 8-lead SOT-23 and also in an 8-lead microSOIC package. Small package, low cost and ease of use were major design goals for this product. The part contains an on-chip 2.5 V bandgap reference but the user may overdrive this using an external voltage.

The document describes the features and characteristics of Analog Devices' AD7741/AD7742 single-channel and multi-channel synchronous voltage-to-frequency converters. The product is available in versions with a single-ended input channel (AD7741) and differential or pseudo-differential input channels (AD7742). It has an integral nonlinearity of 0.012%, achieving a maximum frequency output of 2.75 MHz (AD7742) and 1.35 MHz (AD7741). The product is suitable for low-cost analog-to-digital conversion and signal isolation applications.

The DSP56012 is a high-performance programmable digital signal processor (DSP) developed for digital versatile disc (DVD), high-definition television (HDTV), and advanced set-top audio decoding. The DSP56012 is optimized with audio-specific peripherals and customized memory configuration, and may be programmed with Motorola’s certified software for Dolby AC-3 5.1 Channel Surround, Dolby Pro Logic, and MPEG1 Layer 2. These applications use Motorola’s 24- bit DSP56000 architecture and are the highest quality solutions available.
