The MAX456 is the first monolithic CMOS 8 x 8 video crosspoint switch that significantly reduces component count, board space, and cost. The crosspoint switch contains a digitally controlled matrix of 64 T-switches that connect eight video input signals to any, or all, output channels. Each matrix output connects to eight internal, high-speed (250V/µs), unity-gain-stable buffers capable of driving 400Ω and 20pF to ±1.3V. For applications requiring increased drive capability, the MAX456 outputs can be connected directly to two MAX470 quad, gain-of-two video buffers, which are capable of driving 75Ω loads. Three-state output capability and internal, programmable active loads make it feasible to parallel multiple MAX456s and form larger switch matrices. In the 40-pin DIP package, crosstalk (70dB at 5MHz) is minimized, and board area and complexity are simplified by using a straight-through pinout. The analog inputs and outputs are on opposite sides, and each channel is separated by a power-supply line or quiet digital logic line.

The MAX4539/MAX4540 are low-voltage CMOS 8-channel (MAX4539) and dual 4-channel (MAX4540) multiplexers ideal for precision ADC calibration and system self-monitoring applications. These calibration multiplexers (cal-muxes) have precision resistor-dividers to generate accurate voltage ratios from an input reference voltage. The reference ratios include 15/4096 and 4081/4096 of the external reference voltage, accurate to 15 bits, and 1/2V+ and 5/8(V+ - V-), accurate to 8 bits. The external reference voltage as well as ground can also be switched to the output.

MAX4359/MAX4360/MAX4456 low-cost video cross-point switches are designed to reduce component count, board space, design time, and system cost. Each con- tains a matrix of T-switches that connect any of their four (MAX4359) or eight (MAX4360/MAX4456) video inputs to any of their buffered outputs, in any combination. Each matrix output is buffered by an internal, high-speed (250V/µs), unity-gain amplifier that is capable of driving 400Ω and 20pF at 2.6Vp-p. For applications requiring increased drive capability, buffer the MAX4359/ MAX4360/MAX4456 outputs with the MAX497 quad, gain-of-two video line driver. The MAX4456 has a digitally controlled 8x8 switch matrix and is a low-cost pin-for-pin compatible alternative to the popular MAX456. The MAX4359/MAX4360 are similar to the MAX4456, with the 8x8 switch matrix replaced by a 4x4 (MAX4359) or an 8x4 (MAX4360) switch matrix. Three-state output capability and internal, programmable active loads make it feasible to parallel multiple devices to form larger switch arrays. The inputs and outputs are on opposite sides, and a quiet power supply or digital input line separates each channel, which reduces crosstalk to -70dB at 5MHz. MAX4249-MAX4257 are low-noise, low-distortion op-amps that offer Rail-to-Rail® outputs and single-supply operation down to 2.4V. They draw 400µA of quiescent supply current per amplifier while featuring ultra-low distortion (0.0002% THD), as well as low input voltage-noise density (7.9nV/√Hz) and low input current-noise density (0.5fA/√Hz). These features make the devices an ideal choice for portable/battery-powered applications that require low distortion and/or low noise. For additional power conservation, the MAX4249/MAX4251/MAX4253/MAX4256 offer a low-power shut-down mode that reduces supply current to 0.5µA and puts the amplifiers’ outputs into a high-impedance state. The MAX4249-MAX4257’s outputs swing rail-to-rail and their input common-mode voltage range includes ground. The MAX4250–MAX4254 are unity- gain stable with a gain-bandwidth product of 3MHz. The MAX4249/MAX4255/MAX4256/MAX4257 are inter- nally compensated for gains of 10V/V or greater with a gain-bandwidth product of 22MHz. The single MAX4250/MAX4255 are available in space-saving 5-pin SOT23 packages. The MAX4252 is available in an 8-bump chip-scale package (UCSP™) and the MAX4253 is available in a 10-bump UCSP.

The MAX3748/MAX3748A multirate limiting amplifier functions as a data quantizer for SONET, Fibre Channel, and Gigabit Ethernet optical receivers. The amplifier accepts a wide range of input voltages and provides constant-level current-mode logic (CML) output voltages with controlled edge speeds. A received-signal-strength indicator (RSSI) is available when the MAX3748/MAX3748A is combined with the MAX3744 SFP transimpedance amplifier (TIA).

It can also be used to evaluate other fixed-output voltage versions of the MAX1921 or the MAX1920, which is a step-down switching regulator with an adjustable output voltage.

The DS1330 256k NV SRAMs are 262,144-bit, fully static, NV SRAMs organized as 32,768 words by 8 bits. Each NV SRAM has a self-contained lithium energy source and control circuitry which constantly monitors VCC for an out-of-tolerance condition. When such a condition occurs, the control circuitry resets the processor and holds it in reset until VCC returns to normal operating range.

The MAX705-MAX708/MAX813L microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits reduce the complexity and number of components required to monitor power-supply and battery functions in µP systems. These devices signifi- cantly improve system reliability and accuracy com- pared to separate ICs or discrete components. The MAX705/MAX706/MAX813L provide four functions: 1) A reset output during power-up, power-down, and brownout conditions. 2) An independent watchdog output that goes low if the watchdog input has not been toggled within 1.6 seconds. 3) A 1.25V threshold detector for power-fail warning, low-battery detection, or for monitoring a power sup- ply other than +5V. 4) An active-low manual-reset input. The MAX707/MAX708 are the same as the MAX705/ MAX706, but differ in pin arrangement.
