The MAX2900-MAX2904 are complete single-chip 200mW transmitters designed for use in the 868MHz/915MHz frequency bands. The MAX2900/MAX2901/MAX2902 are compliant with the FCC CFR47 part 15.247 902MHz to 928MHz ISM-band specifications. The MAX2903/MAX2904 are compliant with the ETSI EN330-220 specification for the European 868MHz ISM band. These transmitter ICs offer a high level of integration while minimizing the number of external components. This is achieved by full integration of the transmit modulator, power amplifier, RF VCO, 8-channel frequency synthesizer, and baseband PN sequence lowpass filter. By filtering the BPSK modulation, the spurious emissions are reduced, enabling up to eight independent transmit channels in the U.S. ISM band. Inputs are provided for spread-spectrum BPSK, ASK, and OOK. FM can be achieved by directly modulating the VCO. The devices are intended primarily for use with an external differential antenna.

The MAX7443/MAX7444 are low-cost, triple-channel video reconstruction filters for S-video and CVBS video signals. These devices are ideal for anti-aliasing and DAC smoothing video applications such as set-top boxes, DVD players, hard-disk recorders (HDRs), and personal video recorders. They are optimized for NTSC, PAL, and standard-definition digital TV (SDTV) video systems. Each channel consists of a lowpass filter and an adjustable-gain output buffer capable of driving two standard 150Ω video loads. The output buffers can drive either an AC or a DC load such that the blanking level voltage after the backmatch resistor is less than 1V. The Y and C video inputs are summed to produce the composite video output. The MAX7444 offers high-frequency boost to improve picture sharpness. The MAX7443 has a maximum flat-frequency response. The MAX7443/MAX7444 are available in a tiny 8-pin thin QFN and an 8-pin SO package with exposed pad, and are fully specified over the -40°C to +85°C extended temperature range.

The DS26524 is a single-chip 4-port framer and line interface unit (LIU) combination for T1, E1, and J1 applications. Each channel is independently configurable, supporting both long-haul and short-haul lines.

The MAX2306/MAX2308/MAX2309 are IF receivers designed for dual-band, dual-mode, and single-mode N-CDMA and W-CDMA cellular phone systems. The signal path consists of a variable-gain amplifier (VGA) and I/Q demodulator. The devices feature guaranteed +2.7V operation, a gain control range of over 110dB, and high input IP3 (-31dBm at 35dB gain, 3.4dBm at -35dB gain). Unlike similar devices, the MAX2306 family of receivers includes dual oscillators and synthesizers to form a self-contained IF subsystem. The synthesizer’s refer- ence and RF dividers are fully programmable through a 3-wire serial bus, enabling dual-band system architec- tures using any common reference and IF frequency. The differential baseband outputs have enough band- width to suit both N-CDMA and W-CDMA systems, and offer saturated output levels of 2.7Vp-p at a low +2.75V supply voltage. Including the low-noise voltage-con- trolled oscillator (VCO) and synthesizer, the MAX2306 draws only 26mA from a +2.75V supply in CDMA (dif- ferential IF) mode. The MAX2306/MAX2308/MAX2309 are available in 28- pin Thin QFN and QFN packages.

The MAX7300 is a compact, serial-interfaced, I/O expansion peripheral that provides microprocessors with up to 28 ports. Each port is individually user configurable to either a logic input or logic output. Each port can be configured as either a push-pull logic output capable of sinking 10mA and sourcing 4.5mA, or a Schmitt logic input with optional internal pullup. Seven ports feature configurable transition detection logic, which generates an interrupt upon change of port logic level. The MAX7300 is controlled through an I2C-compatible 2-wire serial interface, and uses four-level logic to allow 16 I2C addresses from only two select pins. The MAX7300AAX and MAX7300ATL have 28 ports and are available in 36-pin SSOP and 40-pin TQFN packages, respectively. The MAX7300AAI and MAX7300ATI have 20 ports and are available in 28-pin SSOP and TQFN packages. For an SPI-interfaced version, refer to the MAX7301 data sheet. For a pin-compatible port expander with additional 24mA constant-current LED drive capability, refer to the MAX6956 data sheet.

The DS4M125/DS4M133/DS4M200 are margining clock oscillators with LVPECL or LVDS outputs. They are designed to fit in a 5mm x 3.2mm ceramic package with an AT-cut fundamental-mode crystal to form a complete clock oscillator. The circuit can generate the following frequencies and their ±5% frequency deviations: 125MHz, 133.33MHz, and 200MHz. The DS4M125/ DS4M133/DS4M200 employ a low-jitter PLL to generate the frequencies. The typical phase jitter is less than 0.9ps RMS from 12kHz to 20MHz. Frequency margining is a circuit operation to change the output frequency to 5% higher or 5% lower than the nominal frequency. Frequency margining is accom- plished through the margining select pin, MS. This three-state input pin accepts a three-level voltage signal to control the output frequency. In a low-level state, the output frequency is set to the nominal frequency. When set to a high-level state, the frequency output is set to the nominal frequency plus 5%. When set to the mid- level state, the frequency output is equal to the nominal frequency minus 5%. If left open, the MS pin is pulled low by an internal 100kΩ (nominal) pulldown resistor. The DS4M125/DS4M133/DS4M200 are available with either an LVPECL or LVDS output. The output can be disabled by pulling the OE pin low. When disabled, both OUTP and OUTN levels of the LVPECL driver go to the LVPECL bias voltage, while the output of the LVDS driver is a logical one. The OE input is an active-high logic signal and

This document describes a high-precision Li+ battery monitor with multiple protection functions, including overvoltage protection, overcurrent/short circuit protection, undervoltage protection, and zero volt battery recovery charge. It is available in two configurations: internal or external sense resistor. It features a 12-bit bidirectional current measurement with a resolution of 0.625mA LSB and a dynamic range of ±1.9A, as well as a voltage measurement with a resolution of 4.88mV. It also includes temperature measurement, system power management and control feature support, lockable EEPROM, and general purpose SRAM.

The MAX7391 is a product that replaces ceramic resonators, crystals, and supervisory functions for microcontrollers in 3.3V and 5V applications. It provides a clock source, reset, and power-fail functions. The programmable power-fail function provides early warning of power failure and can be configured to detect either an external voltage or the VCC supply to the device. The clock output can be switched between normal and half-speed operation. This functionality allows the microcontroller to operate at reduced power and may be used to extend the time available to perform housekeeping tasks, such as writing data to flash during a power failure. Connecting the power-fail output to the SPEED input reduces clock speed automatically during power-fail events. The MAX7391 clock output is factory programmed to a frequency in the 1MHz to 16MHz range. Four standard frequencies are available. Other frequencies are available upon request. The maximum operating supply current is 5.5mA (typ) with a clock frequency of 12MHz. Unlike typical crystal and ceramic resonator oscillator circuits, the MAX7391 is resistant to EMI and vibration, and operates reliably at high temperatures. The high-output drive current and absence of high-impedance nodes make the oscillator invulnerable to dirty or humid operating conditions. The MAX7391 is available in an 8-pin µMAX® package. The MAX7391 standard operating temperature range is from -40°C to +125°C.

The DS1220AB/DS1220AD 16k Nonvolatile SRAMs are 16,384-bit, fully static, nonvolatile SRAMs organized as 2048 words by 8 bits. Each NV SRAM has a self-contained lithium energy source and control circuitry which constantly monitors VCC for an out-of-tolerance condition. When such a condition occurs, the lithium energy source is automatically switched on and write protection is unconditionally enabled to prevent data corruption. The NV SRAMs can be used in place of existing 2k x 8 SRAMs directly conforming to the popular bytewide 24-pin DIP standard. The devices also match the pinout of the 2716 EPROM and the 2816 EEPROM, allowing direct substitution while enhancing performance.

The DS5250 is a highly secure, four clocks-per-machine cycle, 100% 8051-instruction-set-compatible microprocessor in Maxim’s secure microcontroller family. It was designed to be the cryptographic engine of PIN pads, financial terminals, and any other application in which data security is paramount. A key feature of the device is that it encrypts its program memory and optionally its data memory with a hardware-based single- or triple-DES (data encryption standard) algorithm, making it almost impossible to extract information. It also implements block cipher encoding that uses block addresses to modify the encrypted data, further strengthening security. This makes the device ideal for storage and transmission of passwords, personal identification numbers, encryption keys, and other highly confidential information.

The DS1306 is a real-time clock (RTC) manufactured by Maxim. It has 1Hz and 32.768kHz clock outputs, supports Motorola SPI™ (Serial Peripheral Interface) Modes 1 and 3 or Standard 3-Wire Interface, supports reading/writing successive addresses in Clock/RAM, has dual power supply pins, optional trickle charge output to backup supply, operating voltage range of 2.0V to 5.5V, optional industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, and is packaged in an efficient 20-pin TSSOP package and is Underwriters Laboratory (UL) recognized.
