Technical datasheet for SyncMOS SM59 series 8‑bit microcontrollers with up to 64 KB Flash, 1 KB RAM and ISP programming.
The SM59 series microcontrollers are 8‑bit devices featuring up to 64 KB of embedded Flash program memory, 1 KB of on‑chip RAM and a rich set of peripherals including UART, SPI, I²C, three 16‑bit timers, PWM channels and a watchdog timer. They operate from 2.7 V to 5.5 V and support a 1T/2T selectable core running up to 25 MHz.
The document provides detailed pin configurations for PDIP, PLCC, PQFP and LQFP packages, register descriptions, block diagrams, electrical characteristics and in‑system programming (ISP) procedures. It also lists the full GPIO count per package and the power‑supply current in various modes.
| Operating Voltage | 2.7 V ~ 5.5 V |
|---|---|
| Flash Memory Size | 64 KB |
| On‑chip RAM | 1 KB |
| GPIO Count (LQFP‑48) | 46 |
| Maximum Clock Frequency | 25 MHz |
| Active Mode Current (5 V) | 12 mA |
| Operating Temperature Range | -40 °C to 85 °C |
The Reset pin defaults to Reset and must be held low during power‑up; it can be reconfigured as a GPIO via a flash programmer.
Write the sequence 55H, AAH, 5AH to the TAKEY register to set the ISPE bit, which enables ISP programming.
The microcontroller operates from –40 °C to +85 °C.
Idle mode current is 11 mA at 12 MHz with VCC = 5 V.
