The Skyworks Solutions SKY72300 Evaluation Board User Guide provides installation, setup, and configuration instructions for the SKY72300 frequency…
This guide explains how to install and use the SKY72300 Evaluation Board. It covers equipment requirements, hardware connections, power‑supply configurations, and the software interface needed to initialize and operate the dual fractional‑N synthesizer.
Detailed sections describe crystal calibration, setting main and auxiliary synthesizer frequencies, performing sweep and hop operations, and customizing hardware configurations. Appendices provide a bill of materials, default hardware settings, and a full description of the software user‑interface tabs.
| Supply voltage (main synthesizer) | +2.7 to +3.3 VDC |
|---|---|
| Main VCO power supply | +5 VDC |
| Auxiliary VCO power supply | +4 VDC |
| Maximum reference crystal frequency | 50 MHz |
The board needs a main supply of +2.7 to +3.3 VDC, a +5 VDC supply for the main VCO (JP5), and a +4 VDC supply for the auxiliary VCO (JP6).
The reference crystal frequency can be up to 50 MHz; the software allows entry of any value up to that limit.
On the Sweep tab, enter start/stop frequencies and step size, then click the Start button; the synthesizer steps through the range while the spectrum analyzer displays the output.
