About this manual

The Oriental Motor AZ Series represents a new generation of actuators equipped with a newly developed compact, low-cost, battery-free absolute mechanical sensor. This patented technology utilizes multiple gears equivalent to clock hands to detect positioning information by gear angles, eliminating the need for batteries or external sensors like home or limit switches.

Key features include high reliability through a proprietary control system that links open-loop and closed-loop controls, energy efficiency reducing power consumption by 47%, and simplified wiring. The series offers two driver types: Pulse Input Type for driving via pulse/direction signals from a host PLC, and Built-in Controller Type which allows up to 256 items of operating data execution independently or via Modbus/RS-485 networks.
