The TP4056 is a linear Li‑ion battery charger IC with up to 1 A programmable charge current, USB/adapter input, internal PMOSFET and temperature monitoring.
The TP4056 linear charger is designed for single‑cell Li‑ion or Li‑polymer batteries. It is supplied in SOP‑8/MSOP‑8 packages with a bottom heat‑sink and is suitable for portable devices such as phones, MP3 players, cameras and USB chargers.
Key features include constant‑current/constant‑voltage operation, programmable charge current via the PROG pin, battery‑temperature detection, under‑voltage lockout, automatic re‑charge, dual LED status indicators and a low‑power standby mode of 55 µA. The device also provides internal thermal feedback to limit current when the junction temperature approaches 145 °C. This manual is written in Chinese.
| Input voltage range | 4.0 V – 8.0 V |
|---|---|
| Maximum charge current | up to 1 A (1000 mA) |
| Standby current | 55 µA |
| Operating temperature range | -40 °C – 85 °C |
| Maximum junction temperature | 145 °C |
| Fixed charge voltage | 4.2 V |
The charge current is set by connecting an external resistor between the PROG pin and ground; the resistor value determines the current according to the formula given in the datasheet.
The device enters a low‑power standby mode drawing about 55 µA.
The TP4056 can operate with an input voltage up to 8 V.
