This manual describes the HS520A RFID reader module, its pinout, UART interface, command set and operation procedures for ISO14443A cards.
The HS520A is a simple serial RFID read/write module that uses a CMOS‑level UART interface to communicate with microcontrollers such as MCU, ARM or a PC serial port. The document explains the module’s pin functions, electrical characteristics and the serial communication protocol used between the host and the module.
It also provides a complete command set, status codes, and guidance on using a serial debug tool to develop and test applications, including card authentication, data read/write and electronic wallet operations. This manual is written in Chinese.
| Sleep current | < 2 mA |
|---|---|
| Standby current | < 20 mA |
| Read current | < 70 mA |
| Operating frequency | 13.56 MHz |
| Read distance | 30–60 mm |
| Supported card types | Mifare 1 S50, Mifare 1 S70 |
Send the command 0xA1 to the module to configure the UART baud rate.
Pull the WA_UP pin low; the module will wake and reset immediately.
Use command 0xA4, which reads the card, performs anti‑collision and selects the card.
Status code 0x00 means the operation was successful.
