Technical data sheet for DuPont Viton A-Type fluoroelastomers (A-35, A, A-HV) covering properties, handling, curing and applications.
About this manual
The Viton A‑Type fluoroelastomers are vinylidene fluoride/hexafluoropropylene copolymers offered in three viscosity grades (A‑35, A, A‑HV). They are suited for solution coatings, roll covers, gaskets, O‑rings and general molded goods, with each grade providing a different balance of processing ease and mechanical performance.\n\nHandling precautions emphasize ventilation and avoidance of inhaling vapors, especially above 200 °C where hydrogen fluoride may be released. The polymers can be cured with Viton Curative Masterbatches (Nos. 20, 30, 40) or Diak™ curing agents (Nos. 1, 3), and detailed compounding guidelines are provided for acid acceptors, fillers and processing aids.
