Frequently asked questions

What is a CA-VTERM session?

Each time you log on through CA-VTERM, you begin a new session. Your current session includes the period of time during which you access the CPU through CA-VTERM. The current session is over when you quit CA-VTERM.

How does a logical terminal differ from a physical terminal?

Although a logical terminal will respond just as if it were a physical terminal, it is not something you can see or touch because it resides only in memory. A logical terminal enables you to log on to another user ID without logging off your current user ID; using CA-VTERM, you can log on to up to 16 user IDs from just one physical terminal.
