About this manual

This manual describes the operation and features of APBuck’s BUCK-GENIE pump series, including models BUCK-GENIE™, BUCK-GENIE EXTRA™, and BUCK-GENIE LO-FLO™. It details flow control modes (constant volumetric, STP, and pressure), data storage, battery monitoring, and diagnostic functions. The pumps are designed for air sampling using filters, impingers, or gas bags, with flow accuracy of ±3% and STP correction based on barometric pressure and temperature.

The user interface includes a 16-digit LCD display and keypad for flow adjustment, menu navigation, and sampling control. Safety features include flow interruption detection and filter-off alerts. The manual also covers timing routines, data logging, and battery life management.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is the flow measurement?

The flow accuracy is ±3% of any display, and can be calibrated to 1% using a primary gas flow calibrator.

What is the STP equation used for flow correction?

VOLUME (STP) = VOLUME X P x 298° a / (760 mm T + 273° K), where P is actual barometric pressure in mm Hg and T is actual temperature in Celsius.

What is the temperature range for the pump?

The temperature range is 0 to 70°C or 32° to 158°F, with accuracy to ±0.5°C.
