This document introduces the command line interface (CLI) for Forcepoint firewalls, including using the CLI to log on and authenticate, CLI operation modes and privileges, basic account management, URL parameters, configuration commands, configuration file management, and so on.
This document serves as the Command Line Interface (CLI) guide for Forcepoint Appliances, specifically covering the v8.5.xV Series, X Series, and Virtual Appliances. It provides instructions on connecting to the CLI via SSH or console, managing user accounts, and navigating different operational modes such as view, config, and diagnose.
The guide details the syntax for various CLI commands used for system configuration, network setup, file management, and maintenance tasks like backups and upgrades. It also includes specific sections for troubleshooting, SNMP monitoring, and module-specific commands for Email Security and DLP Analytics Engine.
Connect to the appliance management interface IP address (interface C) on port 22 using a terminal emulator and SSH.
The three supported modes are view (default), config (for changing settings), and diagnose (for troubleshooting).
You can have a temporary password sent to the configured email address or contact Forcepoint Technical Support with the security code displayed on the console.
The password must be 8 to 15 characters long and include at least one uppercase, one lowercase, and one number character.
