About this manual

The L6747A is a flexible, high-frequency dual driver specifically designed to drive N-channel MOSFETs connected in synchronous-rectified buck topology. It embeds high-current drivers for both high-side and low-side MOSFETs and accepts a flexible power supply of 5 V to 12 V. The device features an integrated bootstrap diode to eliminate the need for external components.

Frequently asked questions

What is the function of the EN pin?

The EN pin is the enable input for the driver; pulling it low enters the HiZ state with all MOSFETs OFF, while pulling it high enables the driver based on PWM status.

Does the L6747A require external bootstrap diodes?

No, the device embeds an integrated bootstrap diode which eliminates the need for external diodes.

What is the purpose of the preliminary OV protection?

It protects the load from dangerous overvoltage due to MOSFET failures at startup by latching the low-side MOSFET ON if the voltage sensed through the PHASE pin goes above about 1.8 V.
