This document describes the features and characteristics of the STM6717/6718/6719/6720/STM6777/6778/6779/6780 series products, including primary supply monitoring, secondary supply monitoring, tertiary supply monitoring, and reset output.
The STM6717/18/19/20 and STM6777/78/79/80 supervisors are a family of low-voltage, low-supply current processor supervisors designed to monitor two or three system power supply voltages. They are targeted at applications such as set-top boxes, portable battery-powered systems, networking, and communication systems.
These devices feature push-button-type manual reset inputs (MR) and, for the STM6777/78/79/80 variants, an optional delayed manual reset input (MRC). Two of the three monitored supplies (VCC1 and VCC2) have fixed, factory-trimmed reset thresholds, while the third voltage is monitored using an externally adjustable RSTIN threshold. When any monitored voltage drops below its threshold or MR is asserted low, the RST output is driven low.
| Supply current | 11 µA (typ) |
|---|---|
| Operating temperature | –40 °C to 85 °C |
| Reset delay time (trec) | 13.2 ms, 210 ms, 900 ms (typ) |
| VCC1 reset thresholds | 4.63 V to 1.58 V |
| VCC2 reset thresholds | 3.08 V to 0.79 V |
| RSTIN reference voltage | 0.626 V |
| Reset output valid voltage | 0.8 V |
The typical supply current is 11 µA when VCC1 and VCC2 are at 3.6 V.
The STM6777, STM6778, STM6779, and STM6780 devices include an optional delayed manual reset input (MRC).
The internal reference voltage for the RSTIN comparator is 0.626 V.
